Disaster Action Team

DAT members are deployed to family emergencies such as a house fire, offering those Red Cross services for disaster related losses. Upon request the Red Cross provides canteen services to those involved in fighting the fire. In the large event, additional Red Cross workers will be requested to assist in opening Shelters for those forced from their homes.

Disaster Preparedness

A Disaster Supply Kit  for disaster preparedness is a never ending task, both within the Red Cross and in the Community. During a disaster and in the planning in case of a disaster,  local resources must be located to help in the response to the event. Waiting until the event has occurred will cause the lost of valuable time in our response to a disaster.   Morrow County does not face the high risk of disaster as many areas of America, but we do have risk in fire, high winds, tornadoes, flooding, and the man made events such as a vehicle crash involving Hazardous Materials upon the highways. With Interstate 71 and State Routes, 42, 95, 314 Morrow County faces a risk of Hazardous Spill.

Morrow County Chapter of The American Red Cross has  speakers available for your classroom, group, and organization.

Community Disaster Education Program  bring to the citizens awareness that prevention and preparedness can save lives, reduce the impact and damage caused by some disasters.

Our Masters of Disasters will add disaster education to the classrooms. Contact our office for details by phone at 419 946 2811 or e-mail.
