Large Shelters Locations

Many of the Public School have been inspected and may be opened for as a shelter.

The Morrow County Red Cross Chapter is always looking for Volunteers, take the time NOW to learn HOW your services can be put to work, when something happens.

Hello Everyone,

We all have seen those major events,  that are covered in the Nightly News  that stuff happens over there, down there, but disaster could hit here at home. For over 92 Years, Your Red Cross has been there at the time of need.

Our Shelter Location Information is available for the public, so each will know in advance where the Morrow County Red Cross will open up shelter.  The Red Cross will always, check for safety before opening any building.     Look for our Red Cross Banner, on at the door way, facing the road way, near the road way leading to where help begins.

The Morrow County Fire Department, The Morrow County EMA, the government leaders and  the Morrow County Red Cross have developed a disaster plan to team up as needed to help the public in need during and after any disaster event.

If you are a Red Cross Shelter Worker, Take care of YOUR needs and YOUR family needs, then report to any open Red Cross managed center as soon as your can safely.

It is vital everyone have a disaster plan, a have disaster kit, and keep informed so when there is an event YOU can be safe.  So often in life we all put off planning, today is the day to plan.

Contact the Red Cross office we have tips and ways your can BE Prepared and if your are interested, you can join our Team and help in  the time of need.

Be Red Cross Ready
Get A Kit. Make a Plan. Be Informed.

Get a Kit
During a disaster, people will need to have supplies on hand to help them cope and respond. The objective of Get a Kit is to get people to gather the necessary supplies they will need if their daily routine is disrupted. The supplies include things that people need everyday –– not just during a disaster –– such as food, water, clothes, medicines and medical items. The kit is the most specific of the three options with a detailed list of suggested items.

Make a Plan
People should determine before a disaster, what their actions will be should a disaster occur. Thinking ahead makes it easier to make decisions in a potential stressful time and know what to do if separated from others in the household. The objective of Make a Plan is to get people to think through their options and actions before a disaster occurs, write these plans down and share them with others they care about. Make a Plan can be broadened to encourage neighbors to share their plans, and encourage people to get involved with organizations that plan for, respond to, or recover from disasters — such as the Red Cross — an important aspect of making certain that these plans work and have the needed resources.

Be Informed
Information, and the application of it, is key to encouraging and reinforcing positive behavior change. The objective of Be Informed is to get people to learn about disasters, as well as to acquire the skills necessary to help them during a disaster. When starting to prepare for disasters, Be Informed is awareness raising and information gathering so people are better informed as to how they should prepare and what they can expect from emergency services during a disaster. During and after a disaster, Be Informed can be used to emphasize the importance of getting local information and, such as local services, location of shelters and first aid and CPR training.
